The response to SoulCycle's Haiti Relief Spin has been overwhelming. After filling up immediately, the class is on track to raise tens of thousands of dollars for rescue and rebuilding efforts. This is an incredible outpouring of generosity and we know that, in some small way, these contributions will help ease the suffering of the people in Port-au-Prince and the surrounding areas. But it's also clear that there are a lot of members who won't be able to join us on Thursday, so we wanted to post a short note to explain where the money is going and how to give even if you won't be there.
In his role as UN Special Envoy for Haiti, President Clinton created The Clinton Haiti Relief Fund as a place for donations and information. He has since partnered with George W. Bush to ensure that the money is well-spent and that the efforts continue even after the media spotlight fades. The fund's priority is to save lives: to provide food, water, shelter, and first-aid supplies. We can think of no better way for the Soul Community to help than to donate funds that will go directly to supplying these material needs. “If you want to help now," said Clinton, "help people stay alive, even small contributions of 5 or 10 dollars will make a difference."
You can donate on the Clinton Bush Haiti Relief Fund website or people can text “Haiti” to 20222 and $10.00 will go to support relief efforts.
Thank You,
SC
